On Easter, we celebrate!

Mark 16:1-8
The next evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene and Salome and Mary the mother of James went out and purchased burial spices to put on Jesus' body. Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they came to the tomb. On the way they were discussing who would roll the stone away from the entrance to the tomb. But when they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone--a very large one--had already been rolled aside. So they entered the tomb, and there on the right sat a young man clothes in a white robe. The women were startled, but the angel said, "Do not be surprised. You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who was crucified. He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and give this message to his disciples, including Peter: Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see Him there, just as He told you before He died!"
How amazing and awesome! Could you just imagine what it would have been like to see Jesus crucified and then alive again?
However, sometimes, like many Christians, I question my faith. How do I know this event really happened?
Back in the day of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, there was one philosopher (I forget his name, tried to look it up, but was unsuccessful, probably because he was a complete moron) who said that Christianity was a lie. Why or what makes him think so? Well, back in that day, women were basically nothing. They didn't get any respect from anyone. This one philosopher said that Jesus' resurrection was a lie because of who the eye witnesses were. If you look up at Mark chapter 16, you can read that it was Mary Magdalene, Mary, mother of James, and Salome; all three were women! So all in all, this guy said that you cannot believe this because women are the eye witnesses, and women lie. OK, so if what this guy says is "right" then why wouldn't have Mark made the eye witnesses men if he was trying to bring people to Christ? Back in that day, if he really wanted people to believe that Jesus rose from the dead, he would have put down three guys instead of three women, but he didn't. Why? Because what Mark writes is TRUE. Jesus did die, and come back alive. The Bible is an accurate historical document and full of truth.
It's always nice to be reassured of something, especially one's beliefs. This is a perfect example of how Jesus is real. He is the one and true King. I hope all find this reassuring and give praise to God on this Easter Sunday!
Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe
My sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow!
Oh praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead!
Have a good day and God bless,
~Brittany
